You might want to buy this informative and valuable book in order to read the full description for yourself, but here's a short excerpt:

Another Active Retiree is Shelley Seyfried-Bourg. The Tucson resident worked as a legal assistant and paralegal for more than 30 years. "I was enamored by the field," she says. "At one point I considered becoming a lawyer myself." But she eventually grew tired of the work and, at age 62, decided to move on. She took Social Security and began to think about what else she could do with her life. "I'm a Type A personality. Sitting around the house? Not an option!"

As Seyfried-Bourg mentally catalogued her interests in life, her love of animals kept bubbling to the top. As a child she had dogs, cats, ducks, and other pets, and she had toyed with the idea of becoming a veterinarian. But a so-called aptitude test at age 14 stopped her cold. The school counselor who interpreted the results told Seyfried-Bourg she was not suited for the work and probably would not succeed at it. "Nobody was there to say, 'You can do whatever you want,'" she recalls. "'If you're willing to work at it, you can make it happen.'"

This time around, however, Seyfried-Bourg had age and wisdom on her side. She knew she had to follow her heart. She contacted an associate who operated a pet-sitting service and went to work for her.

Inspired by that experience, five months later Seyfried-Bourg decided to open a pet-sitting business of her own....
